Cloud Computing Maturity Model

What Does Cloud Computing Maturity Model Mean?

A cloud computing maturity model (CCMM) is a model for managing the provision of cloud computing services. These models serve to help business leaders and handlers make progress in providing cloud services to a set of customers. This type of model is generally useful in “benchmarking” services and analyzing a level of success, consistency and achievement of service goals.

Techopedia Explains Cloud Computing Maturity Model

Aspects of a cloud computing maturity model typically involve the actual ways that services are delivered, including any events or controls that can help provide automation of services. Another element of a cloud computing maturity model may involve comprehensive information security.

Cloud computing maturity models may have several stages. The initial stage involves simply getting the cloud provider service off the ground or securing solvency. Other successive stages may focus on better practices in managing cloud services and more defined services as well as, again, more automation. Some experts describe a cloud maturity model as a unified approach to IT-as-a-service (ITaaS), where more of a company’s IT operations are delivered over the Web or through other crowd sourced models, rather than being maintained physically in-house.
