What Does Camelcase Mean?

Camelcase is a naming convention for writing file or object names using compounded or joined words with at least of those words beginning in a capital letter. Camelcase is used in programming language to name different files and functions without violating the naming laws of the underlying language.

The term camelcase is derived from its appearance, which can resemble a camel’s back. It is used in many programming language that doesn’t allow spaces in file names. Camelcase enables the creation of names that are more unique and have more meaning for the developer.

For example, file names Bigball, BigBall and bigBall can be read much more easily than bigball.
