One way that security professionals talk about booter services is that they are often used by "script kiddies" – relatively unskilled hackers who may have initiatives and goals related to cyberattacks, but do not have the resources of a larger shop or service. Booter services may market their services to these individuals and help them to attack an online target. Security professionals explain that booter services often have a web front end that is the "control panel" for launching the attacks – the back end is often remotely located and disconnected, in part so that the ISP has "plausible deniability" – however, successful defenses show that if the origin of the booter service and the DDoS attack can be isolated, these types of attacks can be neutralized.
