The design and functionality of Lollipop was significantly overhauled from previous versions of Android. Android Lollipop featured a new notification system, a redesigned apps menu, more APIs, better design for power consumption, and various enterprise tools.

Launch devices for Android Lollipop included the Nexus 6 smartphone and HTC’s Nexus 9 tablet.
