Adobe Audition is a digital audio editing program developed by Adobe Systems Inc.
The workstation includes features such as a multitrack, nondestructive mix/edit environment and a non-destructive wave form editor. It was initially developed as a shareware program that includes some cripplewar capabilities.
The program was initially called Cool Edit Pro until Adobe purchased the rights to the 2.0 version from Syntrillium Software in 2003.
